EnGarde! specializes in unique programing designed especially for schools and young students. Blending physical activity, drama, history and FUN, EnGarde! can tailor programming to meet a wide variety of needs. Elementary and Secondary teachers can meet Physical Education and Drama expectations with this fun and dynamic program.
Students will be thrilled to learn the same simple movements that make up the fight sequences and sword battles they’ve seen in film and TV, from Lord of the Rings to the Marvel Universe. In as little as one session, students will learn basic movements and a choreographed combination that can be used for performances and presentations.

Program Options
Basic: Sword/Unarmed
One Session*
With a focus on safety, Combatants will learn the basics in either single-sword or unarmed (hand-to-hand) combat. Material covered includes safety rules and practice, important terminology, basic attack and defence positions, physical acting, and taking a fight scene from the paper to performance stage.
Intermediate: Sword/Unarmed
Three to Five sessions*
With a focus on safety, Combatants will learn the basics in both single-sword and unarmed (hand-to-hand) stage combat and how to combine multiple elements to create a unique 'fight scene' . We will look deeper into the creation of a safe and exciting scene from concept, to creation, to choreographing with confidence. Combatants will rehearse a longer combination and perform at the end of the sessions. Material covered includes safety rules and practice, important terminology, basic attack and defence positions, physicial acting, and taking a fight scene from the paper to performance stage.
